Independent of the energy markets
The Working Group on Renewable Energies - Statistics (AGEE-Stat) of the German Federal Ministry of the Environment has shown that renewable energies have been able to hold their own in the economic crisis. Ten percent of the total consumption of heat, power, and fuel in Germany last year originated from renewable sources such as biogas, photovoltaic, and wind power plants. Renewable energy sources are worthwhile for almost all companies: In addition to their positive impact on the company's own ecobalance, they also receive state subsidies. But their particular interest lies in the fact that companies are no longer dependent on international markets for their energy supplies.
