Billions for thermal solar energy
According to a report from the World Bank dated December 9, 2009, the Clean Technology Fund (CTF) is providing $750 million in subsidies for the development of solar thermal power stations in the Middle East and North Africa. A further $4.85 billion in investments is set to follow suit. The CTF is a trust, which aims to promote the development of low-emission technologies.
